11 SAA surface-to-surface rockets and some SyAF airstrikes targeted opposition-held towns in eastern Damascus countryside Duma, Harasta, Saqba, and Irbin causing 45 casualties. One of the SAA rockets hit a school in Duma killing some children and the school’s headmaster. These attacks were carried out in response to more than 50 opposition artillery strikes on the SAA-held capital and areas surrounding it, causing 5 casualties in al-Assad Suburb, one young boy’s death in Ain al-Kersh, near the city center of Damascus, and 2 more casualties in addition to many more injured.

Approximately 10 International Coalition airstrikes targeted an underground IS HQ being built next to al-Tabqah, west of IS stronghold Raqqah. Another Syrian Air Force airstrike targeting a civilian market in the town of Ein Tarma, eastern Damascus countryside, kills 7 and injures many more. The number of casualties is expected to rise due to the severity of injuries suffered.
Aleppo Governorate:
Opposition fighters detonate a tunnel under SAA buildings between al-Sakhour and Suleiman al-Halabi Neighborhoods. Reports of SAA casualties.
Fights break out between IS and opposition fighters in Tell Malid, north of Aleppo. Opposition forces destroy an IS tank. Reports of casualties on both sides.
Bodies of opposition fighters were displayed by IS in a public square in the city of al-Bab. These fighters were killed during fights against IS in northern Aleppo Governorate.
The opposition run courthouse of Aleppo Governorate has issued a statement that set the Turkish Lira as the official currency of the area beginning 5/9/2015.

JAN and opposition forces shell al-Fu’ah and Kafarya with more than two thousand rockets and artillery rounds amidst fighting against the NDF and local forces in the villages.
Homs Governorate:
Opposition and JAN forces clash with the SAA in southern Talbisah.
Opposition forces fight against the SAA in the government controlled town of Marimeen.
Daraa Governorate:
Fighting breaks out between SAA and opposition forces in al-Wardat with initial reports of the SAA seizing control of the village.
al-Fu’ah and Kafraya – Idlib Governorate: NDF vs opposition forces and JAN. Reports of opposition forces and JAN making advances in the vicinity. 9 local fighters loyal to the government and NDF died during the fights.
Northern Latakia Governorate: SAA vs opposition forces. Reports of casualties on both sides.
Homs Governorate: SAA vs opposition forces in ar-Rastan.
Damascus Governorate:
Zabadani: SAA, Hezbollah, NDF, and PLA vs islamist opposition and local fighters. 1 Hezbollah casualty, 6 islamist opposition casualties, with reports of more casualties on both sides.
al-Kadam Neighborhood: IS vs opposition fighters. One opposition fighter killed and reports of more casualties on both sides.
The city of Duma is target to heavy SAA bombardment once more, causing 20 civilian casualties and at least 200 injuries.
Aleppo Governorate:
A video was released showing 8 IS fighters’ heads cut off of their bodies by SAA soldiers in Kuweyres Military Airport after an IS suicide VBIED attack and fighting between the two factions yesterday killed 9 SAA officers.
Approximately 50 IS rockets were launched on the village of Marea yesterday, some of these rockets contained harmful chemical substances.

Israeli airstrikes continued this morning, targeting SAA locations in Quneitra Governorate, in retaliation of rocket attacks on northern Israeli territories. 2 SAA casualties, one of which was an officer, and 8 injuries in a weapons depot destroyed near Quneitra by Israeli airstrikes yesterday. This morning 4 Islamic Jihad fighters were killed by Israeli airstrikes and later in the day 5 NDF fighters were killed by another Israeli airstrike near al-Kawm. More than 200 rebel artillery shells hit the village of al-Fu’ah and SAA shelling of Zabadani renews just as the cease fire ended. Fighting between the sides in al-Fu’ah – Kafarya continues after negotiations between Iranian and Hezbollah diplomats and rebel fighters in Zabadani fail on one point: the release of thousands of rebel prisoners by the SAA.
Two clauses in the negotiations were agreed upon: allowing Zabadani rebel fighters to exit the city and move to northern Syria, and allowing al-Fu’ah and Kafarya Shi’ite villagers to evacuate the villages and relocate to Damascus and its surroundings.
